Gerber Champignons AG

The Challenge
Gerber Champignons AG wanted to optimize their production process with a head filling mahcine at their Seftigen site. As part of Wauwiller Champignons – which already operates two GTL head filling machines- the quality was known, but this situation presented unique challenges.
Specific challenges:
- Extreme space constraints: The existing filling hall was exceptionally narrow
- Integration required: The head filling machine needed seamless communication with existing hoppers and winch system
- New team: First GTL head filling machine at this location
The GTL Solution: Customization within Existing Infrastructure
GTL’s strength lies in adapting standard machines to specific situations. For Gerber, the head filling machine was fully customized to fit the narrow space without compromising functionality.
Technical adjustments:
- Space-optimized design: Modifications to perfectly fit the narrow filling hall
- System integration: Full communication with existing equipment (hoppers and winch)
- Plug-and-play installation: Minimal disruption to existing processes
Installation and Start-Up
- Day 1: Complete system test without compost, all functions checked
- Day 2: First test with compost. First cell successfully filled that same morning
- 2 GTL specialists: On-site guidance for optimal knowledge transfer
Result: A fully operational system within 48 hours, despite the complex adjustments and new environment.
The GTL Difference for Smaller Projects

- Same attention to detail and customization
- Professional installation and start-up
- Immediate results without a long learning curve
- Full system integration
